Vancouver is one of Canada's most interesting cities. It's rare type of city with a booming metropolis surrounded by beautiful mountains and water. Not only is the downtown core a major point of interest for visitors and residents of the city, it's surrounding areas like Richmond, Burnaby, and North Vancouver are great places to live, work, and shop. Whether you just moved from Ontario and are looking for real estate jobs or are looking for a scenic city to retire in, Vancouver has something for everyone.
If you are searching out a place to live, it's handy to know all of the different areas of Vancouver so you can find a neighborhood that's right for you. If you are looking for something downtown you have a lot of options to choose from. Yaletown offers higher end living and is located right on the water and has an array of five star restaurants and boutique shopping. Real estate can be more expensive in this area, but you will be getting a newly built apartment or condo in the luxurious part of Vancouver. The west end of downtown Vancouver is also home to some great waterfront properties and is located next to Vancouver's famous Robson Street. Living downtown has great benefits like becoming a foreign worker in Canada, being close to numerous concerts and special events, and close to all transit systems.
Another great area to live in is Vancouver's East Side. Main street offers affordable housing for students and young couples and is in one of the trendiest districts in the city. Main Street is home to unique shops like Arc and Voltage and one of a kind restaurants like Cascade and The Whip. If you are coming from Sage, British Columbia, a cool place to check out is Commercial Drive. The Drive, as it's known to its inhabitants, sends off a very cool, hippy and peace loving vibe loaded with tons of indie coffee shops and pubs where you can see the latest up and coming band. If you are a real estate agent in Toronto the west end across the bridge would be a convenient place for you to live. Also, 'Kits' is one of the friendliest neighborhoods in the city and is only blocks away from the beach.
If you love the great outdoors and sightseeing, North Vancouver is a place you need to see. The first place you are going to want to check out is Grouse Mountain. One of the largest in British Columbia, Grouse Mountain has an abundance of trails for skiers and snowboarders alike. One your way back from Grouse, you should stop off at The Capilano Suspension Bridge with its tree-top trails. Finally whether you just moved to Vancouver or are taking a day off from your accounting software Vancouver office, two last places you should visit are the Cleveland Dam and the Lynn Valley Canyon. Both have breathtaking scenery and the wildlife run free!
